Q3) Feedback
Concept Development and Theme
When we pitched our idea, the feedback we received was
overwhelmingly positively; As our film is similar to our current situation with
North Korea, Brexit, AI and the struggle of adolescent life, our target audience
can relate to this. Our film trailer is an action and adventure genre which means
a younger audience is attracted as they will be interested and have an appetite
for high impact, tense and disaster related movies. Also, the theme of threat leading
to major concerns and issues will create suspense for the target audience of
youth and young adults.
Referring to Bloomer and Cats, these types of films deliver
both entertainment and diversion due to watching in cinema and at home. Dunkirk
is a great example of being successful due to this film offering a strong sense
of national identity and unity. This country is becoming divided due to Brexit and
other political stands however Dunkirk brings it all together. In relation to
this, news reports fear the country being attacked, loss of world piece and no
trust across the world as a result of threats with weapon capability.
A film such as The Interview is one of my favourite and
worldwide comedies as it stars James Franco and Seth Rogan who are internationally
well known. During the end scenes and interview with Kim Jun Un towards the end
of film, the directors and producers portray the real life capabilities of North
Korea’s nuclear weapons and the threats they hold against the US.
Editing
The point of this film is to create an intense atmosphere to affect the audience massively to grasp their attention immediately. In this trailer we discussed aspects of editing which would increase our chances of gripping the audience. We will use more fast and hard cuts to improve and develop our level of tension and gripping sensation.
