RESEARCH --> AUDIENCE PROFILE

Audiences are often defined by GEARS, the first one being Gender. Having looked at the BFI exit polls, of films screened to audiences of some 150 people, I noticed that 81% of the audience was male due to the warfare in Northern Ireland. They captured an audience predominately through trailers before a film as well as male and females under the age of 35.
I think that relating to my film trailer, it will be similar as a result of the huge link to warfare and the outcome of this event.
I am making a film trailer of the disaster/post-apocalyptic survivor genre in which adolescents have to survive a threat of foreign attack. My audience are likely to be teens and young adults.
